Intuitive renderings of imagined and remembered landscapes. Natural subjects; waters, skies, foliage and trees, are simplified and abstracted down to their basic rhythm, repetition, colour and mood. My gestural shapes, bold brush strokes, marks and drips alternate between something recognizable and the complete unknown. Approaching each painting with many layers of colour, depth, transparent and opaque paints, drawing and mark making with handmade tools all come together to form the perfect randomness found in nature.
